Professor of History and Theory of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism

The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen, invites applications for a professor of history and theory of landscape architecture and urbanism. The position aims at further developing and strengthening the history and theory of architecture, cities and landscapes from the 19th century until today. Special focus is on the legacy of the 20th century urbanisation and how critical, historical, and theoretical perspectives can contribute to building more just, sustainable, and diverse spatial practices for the future. The position should also help strengthening design students’ understanding of their field as a historically informed cultural activity as well as their skills as reflexive designers.
